hidden facts behind hinduism

My primary and ultimate objective of creating this blog is to create awareness and convey the value of our religion ‘Hinduism’, make people know the hidden facts behind the so called superstitious believes in our religion. We in India are seeing a transformation in terms of economy and culture in recent times. This change in culture makes people get used to western lifestyle and forget our value system. Today families are getting nuclear and independent. This trend is happening mainly because of incompatibility among members in the joint-family system. We were in closed chain of family and were bound to obey and follow the rules and regulations of the family system. In-fact there were community in an area together and we had set of principles to be followed and adhered for that community. But due to incompatibility and financial reasons joint-family and communities have broken. Today there is nobody in the family to convey and streamline their children’s life because they themselves neither know the principles nor follow those principles. These results in cultural dilution more easily and this dilution is increasing very rapidly for our next generation. This should be stopped. It can be done only when we look back and learn from our value system. Learning from it can happen only if we believe the system and not ignore it by just calling it as superstition. That is what I want to do. Make you believe that our system has value and is not just superstition.

Ours is the only religion in this world which has more than 3 lakh God and Godess, and Vedas says ‘there is only one god and he/she does not have any form'. Is our religion bit contradictory? I will say a big “NO” to it. Ours is the only religion in this world which allows people to worship God in whichever way we want, in whatever form we want, in all means we like, i.e., of the people, by the people, and for the people. This is what is called as “Absolute Democracy”. Adhvaitham, dhvaitham, vishitadhvaitham etc., are various philosophies created to make people reach God. And even worshiping snake, stone or cow holds good if it makes them a better human being and ultimately make them reach God. All those philosophies were created for different set of people who had different mental make up.

Lets take Yoga and meditation. There they teach “shuniya dhyana” which is nothing but reaching a state of “mental standstill” i.e, a state of ‘nothing’ in mind. But this is not easy because mind constantly keep thinking about something and we cannot control mind. So what is the solution ? . they said object oriented dhyana(I don’t know the exact name) is the solution. i.e, thinking about one object constantly make us control our thoughts and thus attain a state of ‘mental standstill’ and then reach the state of ‘nothing’. These are dhyana techniques widely practiced.

Lets understand what Islam preaches. Their God “Allah” do not have any form or shape. So when they worship they are worshipping ‘nothing’. Look at their posture during worship. Its ‘vajrasanam’, an important asana in Yoga. What im trying to say is, by sitting in that posture and worshipping ‘nothing’ they are practicing ‘Shuniya dhyana’. They are attaining ‘mental standstill’.

Coming back to our way of worshipping, we go one step further and create means for even illiterates and ignorant people to worship and reach God. For example a layman who is a illiterate, who is not able to even think beyond a point cannot understand veda and gita. So expaining him veda and asking him to practice "shuniya dhyana"is of no use so they were just made to worship either their a stone, snake or cow. They worshipped it by giving egg and milk, dressing it with flowers etc., we accepted it because our ultimate aim was to make him a better human being and streamline his thoughts and deeds. These layman were just called as SC, ST.

A bit educated but still a person who cannot understand veda was taken into consideration and for him siva, parvathi, murga, ganesha was created. They took thousands of forms and postures basically to cater to these people needs. And they worshipped them by pouring milk and water on shiva’s head(abishekam). They were just named as OBC.

A very educated person who’s core competency is not studying veda was allowed to do yoga, dhyana, chant small recitals of God. Special gods like Krishna, Rama, panduranga, varahi, hayagrivar, lakshminarasimhar, prathyangara were created for their needs. They were called BC, OC.

A person who can understand veda and chant that was allowed to do ‘thapas’ and practice ‘shuniya dhyana’ the actual objective of veda i.e, worshipping god without any form or shape. Which was written way back lakhs of years before. Obviously before "Holy Quran".

You can even check out these people of that so called caste. They will be by and large worshipping the above mentioned God’s and goddesses. It is basically done to ease out their way and make everyone worship God.

You might ask why these caste system? My answer is simple. Look at what this westernized world has given you. When we have eye problem we go an ophthalmologist and not even a general medical practitioner. We stitch our suits and pants with a tailor who is a specialist gent’s tailor and not even a person who stitches both for men and women. I am trying to tell that world is moving towards specialists and not a generalist. This system was actually brought by us long back. We divided people into four basic divisions as brahmanas, shatriyas, vaishyas, and sudras, which later got sub divided into castes. By these finer divisions we created specialist for every work. Today we have specialist for grocery it’s the nadar’s, for tea stall it’s the nair’s, for pawn broking its marwari’s etc. If we swap their work everyone will fumble. I don’t understand the logic behind us accepting ‘specialist’ culture imparted by western world and not the one created by us. More than that our system also gave ways and means to worship god according to each ones wish by which we can reach him without changing our way of life.

I need to do justice to my MBA degree so i will be comparing lot of management topics with hinduism(lol). kindly bear with me. Ill keep posted, u keep checking out this blog.
